Armenian president receives Nikolay Ryzhkov
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today member of Russian Federal Assembly’s Federation Council, Co-chair of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between Armenia’s National Assembly and the Federal Assembly of RF Nikolay Ryzhkov and the delegation led by him, according to the presidential press service.
S. Sargsyan expressed confidence that the sitting held in Yerevan will further strengthen the Armenian-Russian allied partnership. He highly appreciated N. Ryzhkov’s personal contribution to development of bilateral relations and the promotion of inter-parliamentary ties.
Nikolay Ryzhkov thanked Serzh Sargsyan for the warm reception and words, noting that during regular sittings of the Inter-parliamentary Commission in Yerevan and Moscow, participants discuss urgent problems of importance to both countries aimed at further improvement of interstate relations. N. Ryzhkov expressed satisfaction with the results of the 25th sitting of the Commission held in Yerevan.
The interlocutors spoke about preparations in the legislative bodies of Armenia and Russia for the discussion and ratification of the Agreement on Armenia’s Accession to the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union signed on October 10. Serzh Sargsyan and Nikolay Ryzhkov discussed the opportunities and prospects of Armenian-Russian cooperation within the EEU.
The sides stated that the decision stems from interests of the two countries: the integration processes are aimed at further promotion of relations, strengthening of EEU member states and raising the standard of well-being in these states.
