Raffi Hovannisian holds press conference in Liberty Square of Yerevan
The leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian held a press conference in Yerevan’s Liberty Square this evening.
Two days ago the leader of Heritage declined to respond to reporters’ questions, promising to do it at the press conference in Liberty Square.
‘Heritage’ parliamentary faction deputy Ms. Zaruhi Postanjyan, deputy chairman of Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan, party member David Sanasaryan, and dozens of people were present at the press conference.
Raffi Hovannisian said that Heritage Party is prepared to continue cooperation with Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and all those political and civil forces that demand snap parliamentary and presidential elections.
Speaking about cooperation in the format of the troika of non-governing parliamentary parties, R. Hovannisian noted that Heritage Party is not going to abandon that format. “Heritage is where it has always been – in the parliament, the square, everywhere,” he stated.
According to R. Hovannisian, during discussions in the troika’s format a few days ago, the political forces came to an agreement, with a decision being made to stage a rally in Liberty Square based on a common agenda, but this did not happen.
“We hope that parties, Karabakh war veterans, intellectuals, and youths will join us in the square in the near future,” R. Hovannisian said.
He informed those present that Heritage Party plans to hold a rally next Friday and it sent notification to Yerevan Municipality for that purpose.
“Our doors are open. Those wishing can join us. It may be Prosperous Armenia Party and other political forces, including Paruyr Hayrikyan and Zhirayr Sefilyan,” Raffi Hovannisian said.
He declined to comment on the statements of Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Gagik Tsarukyan. “I bear no grudge against them. It is not a cause of one day. You should be prepared for a long struggle,” he said.
