Ghukasyan: All current parties can be considered political corpses
2015 will not be a year of national unification, while the Pan-Armenian Declaration is a document that will remain on paper, a former Armenian presidential candidate, political scientist Andrias Ghukasyan told journalists today.
In his words, the existing situation is dangerous from the viewpoint of national security.
“The political field is being destroyed, and the matter concerns not only Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK). Politics as a type of activity is being unqualified and spoiled,” Ghukasyan noted.
Speaking about political parties, the political scientist said that Orinats Yerkir, Heritage and BHK Parties can now be considered as ‘political corpses’.
“Armenian National Congress (HAK) has almost approached its end. On March 1 HAK will attempt to show that it enjoys society’s support, but in fact, it is a political corpse as well. As regards the Republican Party of Armenia, it became a political corpse long ago,” A. Ghukasyan said, noting that he has no hope of seeing new political forces in the arena.
“It is like a situation preceding the Genocide when people are simply unable to oppose an external force. Under such conditions one should not expect a leader of a democratic country to visit Armenia on April 24,” he noted.
