Parliament votes down bill on impeachment of Armenian president
The parliament of Armenia has voted down the bill on impeachment of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. Four deputies voted in favor of the bill, 68 voted against.
The bill was authored by Nikol Pashinyan, member of Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, but HAK faction did not back Pashinyan and voted against, saying that “it is a weak document which cannot provide a solution to the problem”.
“The process was not prepared from a political or legal point of view. We will vote against,” the head of HAK faction Levon Zurabyan said.
