A. Iskandaryan: Policy is market, demand is there and supply isn't
"There was quite a logical end," Aleksandr Iskandaryan, a political analyst, said at a news conference today speaking of the extraordinary meeting of Prosperous Armenia Party that took place yesterday.
In his words, what happened yesterday ended the political intrigue of the recent couple of weeks. The analyst said that the latest developments once again reaffirmed that the Republican Party is going to win all the elections, since there is no opposition as such.
Iskandaryan believes that the opposition's actions will not go beyond words.
According to the analyst, there is little time for the formation of new opposition forces. Elections are coming up, and there are no forces that are prepared financially and dispose of media and expert resources.
Speaking of BHK, the analyst said that the party will not have any influence in the political arena. As for Gagik Tsarukyan's future role, it can only be considered within the scope of the issue whether he further intends to finance BHK or not.
According to the analyst, policy is a market: the demand is there, but the supply isn't. There is social discontent in Armenia and any political force with the will to satisfy it may succeed.
