Thermobalancing therapy helps to treat BPH symptoms, clinical trial states
A two-year clinical study at the Department of Urology of Institute Surgery Mikaelyan on the use Thermobalancing therapy (Dr.Allen's devices) in 200 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) has been completed. Our reporter asked the Lead of this research and the Head of the Urology Department Professor Ivan Gerasimovitch Aghajanian share thoughts on the results.
-Ivan Gerasimovitch, how do you assess Thermobalancing therapy in general, as a treatment for BPH?
-The results of the two years clinical study with more than 200 men with BPH show the effectiveness of Thermobalancing therapy. The clinical study included a survey of patients by the International Prostate Symptom Score system (I-PSS), digital examination of the prostate, ultrasound, uroflowmetry and urinalysis. All patients were supervised every 6 months for 2 years.
In the first 3 months of patients reported a decrease in complaints of urinary dysfunction: a decrease in feelings of incomplete emptying of the bladder, longer intervals between urination, cessation of flow is intermittent urine, urgency to urinate, increased urine stream, decrease nighttime urination. There was a significant improvement in quality of life. None of the patients who were observed was subjected to surgery. The vast majority of patients discontinued medication. At ultrasound study has shown reducing the size of the prostate. Uroflowmetry data has shown an increase in urinary flow rate, reducing the duration of urination and other uroflowmetry indicators.
-Does this mean that all men with BPH should use Dr. Allen's device?
-In the initial stage of BPH I would recommend all men to use a natural treatment by Dr. Allen. However, urologists often see patients when their prostate is greatly increased or patients have urinary retention. In such cases, they should to decide whattreatment plan is most appropriate.
Our study has shown that a crucial role in determining the indications for the choice of a treatment should be given to uroflowmetry. Reduced level of Q-max-uroflowmetry index below 10ml/sec can be an indication for surgery. Therefore, we insiston a thorough investigation of patients seeking treatment with Thermobalancing therapy. Thermobalancing therapy has clearindications and contraindications. Patients seeking treatment at the Institute Surgery Mikaelyan have the opportunity to get aconsultation of Chief Urologist of Republic Armenia Prof. Aghajanian, [email protected].
-Does the use of Dr. Allen’s device request a prescription for man with BPH or he can buy it himself at the drugstore?
-First of all, when the symptoms of voiding turn up it is important to establish the correct diagnosis, and then decide on a treatment. And for this men need a urologist. However, when the diagnosis is established, then each person has the right to decide how he should be treated independently. At the same time, the urologist should give him an advice. The clinical studies that we have conducted, will allow us to release guidelines to doctors about the use of Thermobalancing therapy.
-An important issue that bothers readers, is the question of the cost of Dr. Allen’s Device, as it compares to drugs andsurgery?
-BPH Medications are prescribed for years. It is really expensive. The cost of drugs for 3 months covers the purchase of Dr. Allen’s Device completely. In addition, it should be remembered that firstly, drugs do not stop the growth of the prostate, but only make it easier to urinate, and secondly, drugs have severe side effects. Almost the same can be said of a prostate surgery. Despite the fact that in Armenia it is the cheapest price for BPH surgeries in the world, they still 5-7 times more expensive than the device.
-Have been you used Thermobalancing therapy for chronic prostatitis?
-Thermobalancing therapy is very effective in the treatment of chronic prostatitis. Many men were recovered from this hard-curable disease. Dr. Allen’s Devices also effective for urolithiasis and for not urological conditions, such as chronic back pain, cerebrovascular disorders, coronary heart disease, and others. Dr. Allen’s company “Fine Treatment” sells his devices from England around the world.
-Do you plan to tell about this unique clinical study to global health community?
-Of course. I and Dr. Allen participated in 2 international conferences last year, where I reported about preliminary data of our clinical trial. Now we are preparing articles for publication in medical journals of Armenia, Russia and in the West. In July the results of the clinical trial on Thermobalancing therapy will be discussed in the 4-th International Medical Congress of Armenia. I am very proud that we in Armenia have approved and offered to the world a new type of efficient natural physiotherapeutic treatment for men with BPH and chronic prostatitis.
