Presentation of ‘Discover Yerevan’ e-book at Yerevan Municipality
The presentation of the e-book ‘Discover Yerevan’ took place at the Yerevan Municipality as part of the Yerevan Municipality’s cooperation with the Armenian Virtual College of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU).
Attending the presentation were Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, AGBU President Berge Setrakian, about 100 AGBU and Armenian Diaspora representatives, representatives of diplomatic institutions, local and international organizations, economic, education and cultural sectors.
Mr Margaryan welcomed the guests and stressed that efficient cooperation between the Yerevan Municipality and the AGBU will facilitate consistent development of such initiatives.
“Our people has always had a special attitude to writing and literature. In this context it was no coincidence that UNESCO declared Yerevan World Book Capital in 2012. The AGBU has carried out most important work. Using up-to-date technologies enables our 2,796-year-old capital to show itself to the world as a city attractive to tourists,” Mr Margaryan said.
He is sure that such projects will stimulate interest in literature. Each year the Yerevan Municipality improves computerization of schools and other educational institutions, as well as libraries.
The e-book will help tourists to enjoy themselves in Armenia’s capital. The e-guide offers numerous user-friendly programs. Interesting video clips, pictures, 3-D images and interactive maps are a supplement to the e-book.
