The new agreement grants the RAU a status of research university
Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan held a meeting on Thursday with his Russian counterpart Dmitri Livanov on the sidelines of the Fourth Bologna Policy forum in Yerevan.
Mr Ashotyan thanked his Russian counterpart for accepting an invitation to visit Armenia. He stressed that the Bologna process is one more opportunity for developing bilateral cooperation, as well as integration into the European education system.
International cooperation is among Armenia’s top priorities.
In this context, Mr Ashotyan pointed out high-level Armenian-Russian cooperation in education. Specifically, Moscow State University has opened its branch in Armenia, and Gazprom has launched a construction of a school with in-depth study of Russian.
The sides signed an Armenian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on the activities of the Russian-Armenian Slavonic University (RAU).
