Armenian church to be renovated in Sasun
The church St Peter (Sourb Petros) of Sasun (Turkey’s Batman province) is going to be renovated in the near future.
According to Hye Tert, a decision to rebuild the construction was made after it was registered by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Diyarbekir Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency.
The 15-century-old monastery complex, damaged by treasure hunters, used to have 350 rooms but is now reported to be in a desolate condition.
