Not smoking, the shortest way to avoid cancer in Armenia
Tim Hunt who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2001is in Armenia. Today he met with the journalists.
Tim Hunt touched upon the cancer problem and its expansion in the world at the scientific event organized on February 20 – 26, 2011 by the support of the “Young Biologists Association” NGO, the Yerevan State University and the Federation of European Biochemical Societies.
He mentioned that the cancer by itself is a very tough disease, getting information about the it is rather difficult, however the easiest way to avoid the disease in Armenia according to Hunt is not smoking.
According to the biologist the food in Armenia is rather useful and healthy, which “is rather important for not getting cancer.”
“In Europe and America the cancer of the lungs is widespread among the women. In the case of womb cancer we found out that it develops because of virus and vaccination is needed for straggling against it. The substance of the vaccine is being used in England for two years already, and soon the result of it will be clear,” Tim Hunt informed.
Coming to the Armenian young biologists he mentioned that holding such meetings, make them continuous and exchange experience is rather important.
