Aram Sargsyan: PM should be given opportunity to work
If the new government of Armenia wants to make changes in the domestic political life, first it should present a report about work done by the previous government, the leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia Aram Sargsyan told journalists.
In his words, one should not expect notable changes in the country if the political course remains the same.
The party leader expressed an opinion that the government should first of all stop emigration of youths from the country and create well-paid jobs for them. “Unless this problem is solved, we will be defeated on this front because Aliyev is keen on realizing the adventure conceived at the time of the Russian-Georgian war. So the crucial task of the government today is to maintain domestic stability,” he noted.
According to Aram Sargsyan, the government being formed by Hovik Abrahamian should do its best to win the trust of people.
“The second objective is to hold early parliamentary elections as almost all the political forces have turned their back on the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), and regardless of decisions taken by HHK now, society will not accept those decisions,” he said.
As for Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamian’s statement during the protest action of ‘I am against’ initiative, A. Sargsyan approved of the prime minister’s intention to please the people, but he said that the question is whether he will endure that burden.
“The prime minister should be given an opportunity to work,” Aram Sargsyan said.
