Yerevan has special place in the hearts of Paris residents – Paris Mayor
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan who is in France on a working visit met today with Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo. During the meeting the interlocutors stressed the special relations existing between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations, governmental press service reports.
Armenian PM and Paris Mayor stressed the importance of developing and reinforcing cooperation between the capitals of the two countries.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed conviction that the Armenian-French cooperation will be continuous and will give its results.
“Armenia’s new leadership is aimed not only at maintaining the current level of Armenian-French relations but giving new dynamics to the agenda of bilateral cooperation,” the PM said, attaching importance to the developing cooperation between the municipalities of the two cities and emphasizing the personal contribution of Anne Hidalgo to it.
The head of the government added that he is aware of almost every day contacts between the two municipalities as well as with Paris’ readiness to share the best experience with Yerevan. The premier said the experience of one of the best managed capitals of the world is very valuable for Yerevan.
Nikol Pashinyan voiced hope that constructive dialogue will be established with the new mayor of Yerevan and concrete cooperation results will be registered.
Noting that Yerevan is celebrating its 2800 anniversary the prime minister reaffirmed the invitation to Anne Hidalgo to visit Armenia and participate in the festive events.
Anne Hidalgo in her turn stressed the necessity of continuous development and deepening of Armenian-French ties and said that with its activity the Armenian community greatly contributes to the development and success of the city.
Paris Mayor also stressed the special attitude of their people towards Yerevan. “Yerevan has a special place in the hearts of Paris residents, and we are interested in developing ties with Armenia’s capital,” Hidalgo said.
After the meeting a reception was organized in Paris Municipality in the honor of Armenia’s Prime Minister with the participation of representatives of Armenian community. During the event Armenia’s PM and Paris Mayor delivered speeches.
