Exploded cylinder not medical center’s property: acting director
The person killed as a result of explosion of oxygen cylinder in St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center is technician Vahram Gasparyan, acting director of the center Arman Hovakimyan said, speaking to reporters on Tuesday.
“According to initial information, this employee should not have been at work today, and the exploded cylinder which was being charged at that moment did not belong to the center,” he said.
Hovakimyan stressed that the oxygen station was tested in July this year and received positive conclusion, and the employees had certificates for working there.
As to observation how a cylinder not belonging to the center appeared here, Hovakimyan said, “I do not want to voice hypotheses, the expertise will show.”
Hovakimyan also noted that the injured employee is currently in the rehabilitation department of the medical center, his life is not in danger.
