The Armenian government approved a bill at a cabinet sitting today on moving the residence of Armenia’s President from Mashtots 47 address to Baghramyan 26 and the residence of the Prime Minister to Governmental House 1.
Head of president’s staff Emil Tarasyan noted that they had submitted proposals which were not fully approved.
Acting emergency situations minister Felix Tsolakyan raised procedural issues as the Government House is not accomodated for ensuring guest welcoming procedures.
It has been noted that the procedure may be conducted in the airport but the bill does not give solutions so it may be regulated by sub-legislation.
Acting first deputy prime minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the president’s staff is not satisfied with the bill while deputy prime minister Tigran Avinyan said that it has not been discussed properly yet.
A decision has been made to separate the bills and submit to the NA the regulation relating only to the residents of president and the prime minister. The other changes will be discussed later.
