Nubarashen, Ajapnyak landfills to be closed, new one to be built
The Armenian government approved at its session today the proposal to extend the term of contract with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on “Project of Management of Yerevan Solid Waste.”
The project envisages building new landfill and closing those of Nubarashen and Ajapnyak. The project costs 26 million euros of which 16 million euros are percent element.
The selection of the contractor company is intended to be carried out in two rounds which may last from 6 months to 1 year.
After it a contract will be signed with the company which in 6 months is to work out and submit plans on building new landfill and closing the old ones.
