Armenia may serve tying circle between EAEU member states and Iran: lawmaker
Armenia will become a tying circle between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran, lawmaker from My Step faction, member of NA’s Regional and Eurasian Affairs Standing Committee Vagharshak Hakobyan told Aysor.am.
“Our geographical location, our friendly relations with Iran allow it, and we are able to do our best to make our country a tying circle between EAEU and Iran,” Hakobyan told Aysor.am.
He said it is necessary to present it to the EAEU member states at its best for them to understand Armenia’s significance.
He said there is a big list of products over which customs value will be applied with simplified regime.
“The majority of this products are agricultural. It is very beneficial for as we have anti-damping opportunity i.e. the cheap product coming from Iran cannot occupy our market. As a result of discussions with our partners from government they convinced us that no such issue may raise,” the lawmaker said.
As to exporting from Armenia to Iran, My Step faction representative said that Iran’s huge market opens wide opportunities for Armenian exporters. He said it is possible to export everything to Iran.
“For instance honey. We have many difficulties regarding honey. In domestic market the demand often is not satisfactory. With the recently signed agreement a huge impetus is being given to it and the results will be noticeable,” Hakobyan said.
