The cabinet sitting referred today to the application of online registration of first graders. Deputy education and science minister Arevik Anapiosyan noted that the system has started operating yesterday and has been tested in Yerevan.
“After a number of tests the system has launched in Yerevan. It is expected to have about 13,000 first graders for 2019-2020. There are places for 14,000 first graders,” he said.
The deputy minister stressed that today as of 10.45 a.m. 9,321 children have been registered online.
“We have technical issues with 100 children agreed with the overload during 9.10-9.25 a.m. which resulted in the failure of registration,” she said, adding that the issue was settled and the system worked from 9.25 a.m.
The deputy minister said 75% out of 80% of first graders have been registered as of today.
“A transparent and accountable system has been applied which will change the culture, ensure lawfulness and order and all will have equal opportunities,” the deputy minister said.
