No need for new Environmental Safety Assessment: Pashinyan on Amulsar
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he does not see a need for new expertise on Amulsar exploitation issue.
In live video on Facebook he said that a public discussion will take place and if new facts come forth the government will not be restricted in its actions.
“What I say is based on the information I have now. A big public discussion will take place. If during these days a fact or an argument comes forth which we have not considered, the government is not restricted in demanding the implementation of the condition it has forwarded. If a new fact appears, we will say “yes, ok, we have not considered this fact, now we will view it and see whether it will brings to a new conclusion or not”,” he said.
At the end Pashinyan reaffirmed his thought voiced earlier that if the exploitation of Amulsar is safe for Sevan and Jermuk waters, taking into consideration the big volume of investments, permission will be given for exploitation, if not, if there is a danger, another way will be chosen.
