Over 800 buses necessary for eliminating public collapse in Yerevan
Legal process is ongoing for breaching the contract with Sanitek, Yerevan mayor Hayk Marutyan told the reporters today, stressing that the municipality acted in legally clear and right way and has no any concerns.
“We have thought over all our steps. We are moving forward normally,” he said, adding that currently he is building garbage removal system which will create no issues for Yerevan residents in future no matter who the mayor will be.
“A drastic progress will be registered in the coming month, the issue will get complex solution. We have started classification of garbage. Currently 26 trash trucks are working in the capital. Eight trucks have reached Yerevan and will join the works in 3 days,” the mayor said.
Referring to his possible resignation, Marutyan said there is no such intention.
“We have just started. We have returned 6,500 sq/m of our kinder-gartens to the community, we have increased our budget by 2 billion AMD, we are bringing back the parks, we are reviewing all the illegal tenders and privatizations, we have initiated large-scale construction. We have big plans. What resignation are you speaking about? Why should I do that? Not to bring the kinder-gartens back?” Marutyan asked.
Speaking about public transport issue Marutyan said he issue will be solved in the upcoming two years. He said over 800 buses are necessary for eliminating transport collapse in Yerevan.
