Armenia undertakes response measure against Russia
A bill forbidding people with foreign driving license work in Armenia as drivers has been introduced to the parliament.
“This ban will not be applied against citizens of EAEU member states by the principle of reciprocity. I think you are well aware that Armenian citizens have this issue in Russia and this issue is not being solved as Russia is not giving proper proceeding to these bills. We move forward and clearly register that if principle of reciprocity is ensured we are ready to make exclusions for citizens of the CIS member states,” deputy chief of Armenia’s police Hovhannes Kocharyan stated at the National Assembly today, introducing the package of legislative amendments.
Kocharyan specified that this regulation is necessary to ensure the balance.
“We are not guided by any political motives. After the state adopts and gives opportunity to apply national driving license, we will apply it for foreign citizens as well,” he said.
Kocharyan said the measure is applied against the countries who are not members of the Vienna Convention.
