Issue of providing social assistance to needy, socially insecure families to be solved soon: minister
In the upcoming week the agenda of the government’s cabinet sitting will include a draft bill to bring into life the long-awaited change in the lives of insecure and needy families, labor and social affairs minister Zaruhi Botoyan reported on Facebook.
She said the draft bill will give the families with no certain place of living and without registration in state register an opportunity to get use of state programs of social assistance.
It also will facilitate the procedures of change of registered place of living for the families registered in the system, giving the family an opportunity to apply to territorial social assistance agency of the new place of living.
“This will solve the issue of providing assistance to the extremely poor families as many of them are living without registrations. Many of them are living in buildings not intended for settlement. They need state social assistance most of all, but due to it they remain out of the state care,” the minister said, adding that hence they will be included in allowance system and the ministry’s assistance will become more targeted.
