Car importers urge to allow re-equipment of cars with right wheels in Armenia
In parallel with the protest action of black-clothed mothers (members of organization who lost their sons in the army) importers of cars from Japan also organized a protest in front of the government building today.
Speaking to a reporter, one of them complained that they are forced to re-equip the right-wheel cars they import from Japan in Georgia.
He said from January 1, 2020 the customs fees of cars go up and they must manage to re-equip their cars in Georgia. He said they have time issue and demanded from government to organize the re-equipment of the cars in Armenia.
“We want to hand an open letter to the prime minister to allow re-equipment of our cars in Armenia,” the participant of the action said.
“At least 5 masters are working on re-equipment of each car. The process costs from 1,000-1,500 USD, plus spare parts, we want to meet with the prime minister and hand him the open letter,” he said.
