Efforts of both countries necessary to reach progress in Karabakh peace talks: Russian FM
Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov speaking at a joint news conference with Armenia’s counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Yerevan today stated that during the meeting they attached significance to the efforts of the two countries toward reaching progress in constructive negotiations.
“We have spoken about Nagorno-Karabakh issue and attached significance to the efforts of two countries to reach progress in constructive negotiations. We also reaffirmed the future steps toward reduction of tension in the conflict zone,” Lavov said.
He noted that Russia is ready to continue being an active mediator both in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and in Russia-Armenia-Azerbaijan format as well.
“We are satisfied with the results of negotiations,” Lavrov said.
