Professor staff of YSU Philology and History faculties declare a warning one-day strike as sign of solidarity with the students
Lecturers of two faculties expressed their support to striking students who are protesting against withdrawal of Armenian Language, Armenian History subjects from the mandatory list.
Head of the YSU Armenian language chair Yuri Avetisyan said they express to their solidarity to the movement.
“We expect the ministry or an authorized body organize a discussion with the participation of all stakeholders. We expect presence of minister Arayik Harutyunyan as well,” he said.
The lecturer expressed hope that the discussion will result in conclusion and solution of issues and the classes will finally resume.
Lecturer Narine Dilbaryan read the text of the statement the professor staff of the YSU philology and history faculties prepared.
“We state about our solidarity to the student’s movement and declare a warning one-day strike,” she stated.
