Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Davit Ananyan briefed at the cabinet sitting today on the status of Armenia’s embassy’s customs attaché in Russia.
He said an arrangement has been reached that hence Armenia will have own representative in the Upper Lars border check-point to be able to give operative solutions or options of solutions to certain issues. The representative should be customs attaché to be able to solve the issues.

The attaché is being appointed and relieved of post by the Armenian government.
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that during this period Armenia did not have big crisis or unsolvable situations in the Upper Lars.
“We may register that good atmosphere has been established with our Russian and Georgian partners and operative work is being carried out but the existence of the customs attaché will help the government not deal with such issues and they will be solved by him,” Pashinyan said.
Armenia’s foreign minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said that the MFA hails the decision.
“I am convinced that having our attaché there will ease many issues. The solution of this issue is very welcoming,” the minister said.
