Harvey Weinstein agrees £19m settlement with sex attack accusers - but won't pay a penny himself
Harvey Weinstein has agreed a tentative £19million settlement with dozens of his sex attack accusers, Mirror reports.
The fallen Hollywood mogul, 67, is said to have struck the agreement with the board of his bankrupt former movie studio The Weinstein Company.
According to The New York Times , the settlement would be paid by insurance companies representing the studio so Weinstein would not have to spend a penny of his own money.
He would also not have to admit any wrongdoing.
However, because The Weinstein Company is going through bankruptcy proceedings, the women involved would have to make their claims alongside the studio's other creditors.
It is likely to make the job of getting the payout a long and difficult process for the accusers.
