Sergey Bagratyan should reasoned leaving the faction with more grounded and frank explanation: Gevorg Petrosyan
Member of Prosperous Armenia parliamentary faction Gevorg Petrosyan speaking to Aysor.am said they have not discussed the issue of former member of their faction Sergey Bagratyan.
He said the issue of replacement could have been discussed if Bagratyan recused his mandate which he did not do.
“I have not met with Sergey Bagratyan during this period, and we have not talked about his decision either. If I am not mistaken no one met him from the faction, including the head Gagik Tsarukyan,” he said.
Referring to the moral side of the issue Petrosyan said as to him a person who appeared in the NA not with his own efforts it would have been right for him in such situations recuse the mandate and not appear in other camp or cooperate with other forces.
“Indeed, it is the right of each person to leave the faction, without explanations too, but in moral respect he is to reason it. Sergey Bagratyan appeared in the parliament as PAP member and leaving it without explanations is a demonstration of disrespect,” he said.
As to the political disagreements Bagratyan wrote about on his Facebook post, the MP said there were no such.
“There were no disagreements, he was one of the MPs who without any uprising agreed with all the decisions of the political leadership… It would have been more honest if he stated about other reasons of leaving the faction or just say that he does not want to cooperate with the PAP any longer. Bringing unreasonable explanations is shameful for a political figure. Authoring such light-minded statement does not bring honor to a lawmaker, as to PAP it will keep on moving forward without him too,” Petrosyan said.
