Serzh Sargsyan meets Vladimir Putin
Yesterday, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is in Turkmenistan on a working visit, participated at the Council of the Heads of the CIS member states in Ashgabat, the press service of the president reported.
At the sessions which were first conducted in closed and later in extended formats, delegations of the Heads of the CIS member states discussed and adopted over two dozens of documents pertinent to the deepening of cooperation in the economic and humanitarian areas, security and some other areas. It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Heads of the CIS member states in October 2013, in Minsk. Chairmanship of the CIS was passed on to Belarus.
In the framework of the Summit held in Ashgabat, President Serzh Sargsyan had a brief meeting with Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation. The Presidents of the two countries discussed a number of issues concerning the agenda of Armenian-Russian strategic partnership.
