Armenian foreign minister receives US congressmen
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received today a delegation of U.S. Congressmen, led by Ed Royce, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives. The delegation is composed Congressmen Eliot Engel, David Cicilinne, and Lois Frankel, according to the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry.
Edward Nalbandian welcomed Foreign Affairs Committee members’ visit to Armenia, stressing the importance of their consistent efforts aimed at promoting friendly cooperation between Armenia and the U.S.
He highly appreciated the consistent steps of the delegation members to achieve recognition of the Armenian Genocide, considering as symbolic their visit to Armenia on the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.
Expressing their gratitude for the reception, the U.S. Congressmen said the visit gives a good opportunity to get first-hand information about regional problems. The guests stated they will continue assisting with the development of ties between Armenia and the U.S.
The sides underlined that the bilateral relations are at a high level and the mutual trust between the two countries is a good guarantee for the expansion of cooperation in various spheres.
Edward Nalbandian spoke about the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, the country’s approaches to resolution of regional and international problems, and efforts of Armenia and the international community on a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
