Armenian foreign minister meets OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan on July 22 paid a working visit to Brussels where he met the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Igor Popov of Russia, James Warlick of the U.S., and Pierre Andrieu of France, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
Nalbandyan drew the attention of OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs to Azerbaijani bellicose rhetoric at the highest level that has intensified in recent weeks, the statements distorting the core and contents of talks, the flagrant violations of the ceasefire on the border with Armenia and on the Line of Contact with Artsakh, and intensification of subversive actions.
Nalbandyan stressed that because of its provocative steps, Azerbaijan escalates the situation on the border, paying no heed to numerous calls by the heads of the mediator states to prepare people for peace.
“Despite the international community’s calls that are becoming targeted, the Azerbaijani leadership continues a destructive and dangerous policy, prosecuting and detaining, on trumped-up charges, those Azerbaijanis who speak in support of peace, which does not contribute to a positive atmosphere in negotiations,” Nalbandyan said.
According to Armenian foreign minister, Armenia will continue joint efforts with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs toward a peaceful resolution to the Karabakh conflict.
