One dead after car catches fire on Yerevan-Sevan highway
Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) received information around 4:40 am today that a car was burning on Yerevan-Sevan Highway, near the city of Charentsavan, MES said.
Six firefighters and a rescue team of MES were sent to the scene.
It was found that a Hyundai Electra left the road at 35th kilometer of Yerevan-Sevan Highway, plunged into a 50-meter-deep gorge and caught fire. A passenger of the car died in the crash.
The car’s driver, 28, and two passengers were taken to Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center of Yerevan. They are in serious condition.
The fire was extinguished at 5:41 am.
