Man injured in gas station blast dies
One of the two men who were injured today in a gas filling station explosion in Armenia’s Gegharkunik province has died, the deputy director of Yerevan’s Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center Gagik Manukyan told Aysor.am.
“He suffered injuries to the kidney and the spleen and underwent surgery after he was admitted to hospital. But his injuries were so serious that doctors failed to save him. He died during surgery,” Manukyan said, adding that the other man received eye injuries, but he is out of danger.
As was reported earlier, an explosion occurred this morning at the gas filling station in the village of Yeranos, Gegharkunik province. A task force was sent to the scene. It was found that the gas cylinder of a VAZ-2121 car exploded at the gas filling station owned by Hayk & Norik LLC, as a result of which a Mazda parked nearby was damaged and a 60-year-old man and a 55-year-old employee of the gas station received injuries. They were taken to the Martuni city hospital, later to Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center in Yerevan.
