Gallup International: The public forecast breakup of non-coalition troika
Director of Gallup International Association’s Office in Armenia Aram Navasardyan said at a press conference today that Armenian residents forecast the breakup of the ‘troika’ of non-coalition parties long ago.
In November the organization carried out a poll among 1,067 Armenian residents. 40% of respondents said that the troika would break up in the near future, 25% said that rallies of the troika would gradually become smaller, and 20% said the troika would hold rallies regularly. According to 11%, as a result of rallies, the authorities would conduct negotiations with the troika which would be offered levers of power.
Navasardyan added that 9% of respondents believed that the troika’s rallies would result in the authorities’ resignation, while 6% said the troika would not agree to negotiate with the authorities.
61% said that Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) was the financial leader of the troika, 35% described it as the ideological leader. Heritage Party and Armenian National Congress (HAK) were considered as the ideological leader only by 9% and 15% respectively.
The poll was conducted on November 20-27, 2014.
