No one needs another Karabakh war – M. Deliagin
“I honestly don’t know how the Nagorno Karabakh conflict can be settled. I suppose no one knows. Therefore currently the settlement activities are aimed at keeping the conflict “frozen,” Mikhail Deliagin, President of the Institute of Globalization Problems, told vesti.az.
According to the expert, to some extent, Russia is a guarantor of balance in the zone of conflict. The problem remains unsolved, and we can say Russia’s activities on “freezing” the conflict are successful, he noted.
“However, I think no one sees a settlement of the conflict. It’s quite possible that OSCE Minsk Group may be discussing some approaches on the settlement but we know nothing about it,” M. Deliagin said.
Asked whether military operations can resume in the region of Karabakh conflict the Russian expert noted that taking into consideration the flow of petrodollars in Azerbaijan, the latter has much to lose if the war resumes.
“Therefore I think no one needs another Karabakh war,” Deliagin stressed.
