Ethnic Armenian Etyen Mahcupyan appointed Davutoglu’s chief advisor
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has appointed journalist and writer of Armenian descent Etyen Mahcupyan as his chief advisor, APA reported.
Davutoglu and Mahcupyan have long known each other, meeting regularly during Davutoglu’s term as foreign minister.
Mahcupyan said that he will support Prime Minister’s activity “for the development of democracy, government and public relations and resolution of minority issues.”
Mahcupyan is the first non-Muslim among advisors of Turkey’s President and Prime Minister.
