Movses Hakobyan: Flights were conducted in our section
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is also dealing with the problem of Karabakh Armed Force helicopter shot down by Azerbaijan, Defense Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Movses Hakobyan said during a briefing in Karabakh.
According to him, in the past two days the Azerbaijani side has become active in the area where the helicopter crashed and they are trying to prevent the Armenian side from approaching the downed helicopter.
“We should take into account who our enemy is and why they do it. Our helicopters were flying near the border-line, but the enemy shot one helicopter down. If they had responsibility and logic, they would not take such an action because flights were conducted as part of tactical drills,” Movses Hakobyan said, stressing that the flights were conducted in our section
The commander of the NKR Defense Army said the helicopter fell in the neutral zone, 20 meters from Azerbaijani positions.
When asked by reporters what actions the Armenian armed forces are going to undertake, M. Hakobyan replied that the army knows its job and a response will be given without fail.
As was reported, due to a violation of the ceasefire by Azerbaijani troops, around 1:45 pm on November 12 a MI-24 helicopter of the NKR Air Force was shot down during a training flight in the airspace over the eastern section of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border.
