Parliamentary deputy Aragats Akhoyan quits Prosperous Armenia Party
The member of Prosperous Armenia Party’s (BHK) parliamentary faction, MP Aragats Akhoyan submitted an application about withdrawal from BHK.
“I consider it impossible to participate in the processes leading to an escalation of the internal political situation, given the tense situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the approaching 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide,” he said.
According to Akhoyan, he will continue his work in the parliament as a non-partisan deputy.
The MP also said that he repeatedly warned the leadership of BHK about his possible withdrawal from BHK if the activities of that party would result in domestic political clashes and in incompatibility with his pubic activity.
