Armenian president meets with ambassadors of OSCE member states
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today had a working dinner with ambassadors of the OSCE member states accredited to Armenia, according to the presidential press service.
S. Sargsyan highly appreciated the role and potential of the OSCE in maintaining European security and settling the conflicts.
The Armenian president said that maintaining the active role of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair states is important for security of not only the Karabakh conflict parties, but also for the whole Europe. S. Sargsyan stressed that the principles of international law and the Helsinki Final Act cannot be interpreted arbitrarily and none of the principles should prevail over the others.
The president spoke about the negotiations conducted last year with the mediation of Minsk Group co-chair countries, the existing problems, and Armenia’s approaches to the possible ways of dealing with the problems in the current situation.
Serzh Sargsyan also presented the commemorative events to be held on the Armenian Genocide Centennial, he touched upon international problems and challenges, issues of Armenia’s domestic and foreign policies, the new economic opportunities after Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union, the prospects of deepening cooperation with the EU, and the reforms in Armenia, including the process of constitutional reforms.
An exchange of opinions took place. The president answered the questions of meeting participants.
