Raffi Hovannisian makes an appeal to Armenian police chief
During a press conference in Liberty Square of Yerevan today, the leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian made an appeal to the Armenian Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan.
“You should feel shy before the Armenian people. Be prepared for that,” R. Hovannisian said.
According to him, Heritage Party will visit Lori province on February 28 and Tavush province on March 1. As regards the March 1 rally initiated by Armenian National Congress (HAK), the leader of Heritage said the rally will be attended by those members of their party who will not be on a trip to Armenian provinces.
“I urge everyone to participate in the March 1 rally. On that day we will honor the memory of the victims of the tragic March 1 events, in the border village of Chinari,” he stated.
He informed those present that on March 6 Heritage Party members will be in Liberty Square and he urged everyone to join the event. Raffi Hovannisian said the party held meetings with other political forces, but no concrete agreements have been reached so far.
“I think many realize the importance of the moment, and meetings will continue in the near future,” R. Hovannisian noted.
He announced that he will attend the summit of the European People’s Party in Brussels on March 2 where he will present a resolution dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. HAK and Orinats Yerkir Party also joined the resolution.
