ARF-D not to impede any process reached through general consensus
While approving the program submitted by the new government, the ARF-D has expressed its consent to the conduction of snap parliamentary elections, ARF-D faction member Spartak Seyranyan said at a briefing today.
“Today we reiterate that the ARF-D is for snap parliamentary elections. We keep our promise, arrangement,” Seyranyan stressed.
“While agreeing for a year term we understood that September, December, February fit this term and it will be a little unjust, and I would even say it is a manipulation to claim that ARF-D wants them to be in May. We have stated after what steps the snap parliamentary elections should take place,” Seyranyan stressed.
Among these steps ARF-D member mentioned the adoption of new Electoral Code, change of police’s subordination, formation of general public trust.
“The PM has stated that for it equal conditions should be ensured for all the political forces. If all these steps are carried out and completed by December 1, day of elections may be declared,” he said.
Seyranyan said if the political forces decided through talks and not pressures that elections be conducted in December, the ARF-D will agree and will not nominate candidate and impede the process.
