Relatives of detained police officers close Yerevan-Sevan road demanding their release, open after explanatory works
The relatives of two police officers from Sevan department arrested for torturing a person closed Yerevan-Sevan highway demanding their release.
Deputy police chief Aghasi Kirakosyan and acting deputy prime minister Tigran Avinyan departed for Sevan.
The police officers are suspected in torturing A.M. who was brought to the department from a bookmaker’s office.
A.M. has submitted a complaint application according to which on October 7, 2018 three police officers brought him to Sevan police department from bookmaker’s office and beat him there.
The investigation is underway.
After the explanatory works though the relatives opened the highway, head of mass media communication department of the Police Edgar Janoyan told Aysor.am.
“Explanatory works have been carried out. Currently the road is open, traffic regulated,” he said.
