Yerevan budget aims at staff training, raise of salary: My Step bloc representative
Yerevan City Council’s Luys faction considers the 2019 Yerevan budget a regress.
“The means provided for administrative services which we considered ineffective have grown. In particular, the allocations for rewards have grown by 1 billion 232 million AMD, for foreign trips by 50 million AMD and for professional training of staff by 160 million AMD,” Luys faction head Davit Khazhakyan said at the meeting with reporters today.
He stressed that sums for restoration of elevators, greening of territories, solution of transport issues have been cut which will result in a number of problems.
“This budget cuts will ensure multiple regress in the works,” he said.
Deputy chairman of the financial commission Levon Hovhannisian, who received Yerevan City Council mandate by participating in the elections with My Step bloc, said that the salaries in Yerevan Municipality are very low, including the ones of the mayor and his deputies. In such conditions it is impossible to find good specialists.
“All this is being done for implementation of development projects. The goal of expenses is to train the staff, to prepare specialists with knowledge of languages and other necessary skills,” he said.
