Yerevan to have cable way from Nor Nork 2 to downtown and to Victory Park: Artur Meschyan
The program of construction of cable way is another important program the municipality focuses on after the construction of metro station, Yerevan chief architect Artur Meschyan told the reporters today.
“By the construction of the cable way we want to ease the Nor Nork and downtown communication which today results in transport collapse. The communication will be from Nor Nork 2 to Polytechnic University’s hostels,” the chief architect said. He said in future it will continue to Victory Park.
Meschyan said the construction of the cable way and new metro station is not carried out by budget means.
“We are working with constructors who will finance the cable way program. To speak frankly, currently we are more dealing with diplomacy than with architecture as it is a very complicated issue to involve constructors,” he said, adding that there are already those with who the municipality is working.
“It is a 100% transport line. The number of wagons must ensure the full passenger transportation. We will have wagons with 32 seats. They will be like buses. The operating frequency will allow to avoid any gatherings both in the upper and bottom stations,” the chief architect said.
Meschyan refused to unveil names, adding that he will speak about it in more details at the next press conference.
