Armenia’s parliament approves disputable law on State Fee
The Armenian National Assembly session started after 20 minute pause due to protest action by a group of constructors and construction companies.
Explaining the reason of the break, My Step faction lawmaker Babken Tunyan said that the protestors claim that the bill on State Fee will be adopted with the violation of law.
“They claim that we have no right to put it into force earlier than in six months. While I want to say that we are doing everything right from legal perspective. We have paused the session to speak with the people and then vote for the bill,” he said, adding that they will meet with the people later to explain everything.
The law on State Fee was put for voting and adopted with 85 for, 16 against and 3 abstained votes. The law was adopted at the second reading and fully.
Prosperous Armenia faction which was against the bill, backed it at the voting.
The law envisages making the state fee for imported cement 14,000 per ton and no fee for the import of clinker.
