Constitutional Court chairman must be judge: My Step lawmaker
My Step faction lawmakers do not want to clearly say who they consider Constitutional Court judge.
“The transitional provisions of the Constitution are disputable “members” “judges”… these terms must yet to be revealed for us,” lawmaker from ruling My Step faction Anna Karapetyan said at the parliamentary briefing today.
“The Constitutional Court chairman must be judge,” Anna Karapetyan said.
As to whether she means Vahe Grigoryan, Karapetyan said, “In your opinion are there other judges in the Constitutional Court besides the two? As of now there are two judges there, isn’t it so?”
As to their attitude over self-declaration by Vahe Grigoryan as chairman of the CC, other lawmaker of the faction Suren Grigoryan said after making such statement Grigoryan said he must discuss the issue with his colleagues.
“No one commented the issue, neither did Hrayr Tovmasyan. The issue is in the phase of discussion,” he said, adding that if those who the issue refer to do not comment it, it will not be right for the lawmakers to do it.
