Judge Davit Grigoryan politically persecuted: Aghasi Yenokyan
Media Defender initiative head Aghasi Yenokyan thinks that by suspending the authorities of judge Davit Grigoryan the authorities are trying to transfer the case of the second president to another judge.
“By launching a case against Davit Grigoryan and suspending his authorities the authorities want to transfer this case to a more flexible judge,” Yenokyan told the reporters today.
He noted that with this the authorities are trying to subject the judicial system.
“This is a political persecution against Davit Grigoryan. I think it is another step by the authorities to subordinate the judicial system to them,” he said.
He stressed that on this way the authorities both had successfully implemented steps and failures as well. Like for instance he said the authorities managed to subordinate to them the Supreme Judicial Council and judge Armen Danielyan.
“Some steps though were unsuccessful, they did not manage to subordinate to them Davit Grigoryan and the Constitutional Court,” he noted.
Yenokyan stressed that the accusation against Davit Grigoryan is just a “balloon” which may explode at the first instance court.
“I even do not say what will happen if this case reaches European Court if Human Rights, it will be a shame for Armenia’s judicial system,” he added.
