Russian MFA draws no parallel between Crimea events and Karabakh
“I would not draw direct parallels between the Crimean events and the situations in Transdniestria and Karabakh,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasily Nebenzya told Interfax news agency.
“The OSCE Minsk Group deals with the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, that is, the co-chairs from Russia, France and the Unites States try to promote a direct dialog of Azerbaijanis and Armenians. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan met on the sidelines of the recent meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers, and there was a contact of the leaders of the two countries not long ago. There is a ‘5-plus-2’ format of the Transdniestria settlement. Work continues in these directions,” the deputy foreign minister of Russia said.
