Genocide commemoration events planned in Moscow
The Armenian Genocide commemoration events will be held in Moscow, Regnum news agency reported.
The Armenian community of Moscow and the Russian public are going to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
An event in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust is due on April 22 in the Moscow Central Universal Research Library after Nekrasov. The event will open with an exhibition of Gyumri-based painter Vachagan Poghosian whose works depict tragic pages in the histories of the Armenian and Jewish peoples.
A protest will be staged outside the Turkish embassy in Russia on the morning of April 24. The participants will demand official recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Turkish government.
A rally under the slogan “The Armenian Genocide. Crime against Humanity” is scheduled on the same day at Krasnopresnenskaya Zastava Square. Speeches will be made by members of State Duma factions, political figures, and scientists.
