Alaverdyan: Artsakh independence process in line with international norms
It can be shown today that the process of Artsakh’s independence started in line with human rights and international norms,”Chairwoman of Against Legal Arbitrariness NGO Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters today, stressing that however, the process was later distorted and taken to another field.
“The reason is not only Azerbaijan’s ‘caviar diplomacy’, but also the poor diplomacy of Armenia concerning this issue,” Ms. Alaverdyan explained, adding: “A situation has emerged when Azerbaijan sets greater conditions than Armenia and Artsakh. I can assure you that if Azerbaijan had 10% of our arguments, Armenia would be deprived of its voting right on international arenas”.
In her opinion, Artsakh’s independence could have been recognized in 1992 or in May 1994, but unfortunately it did not happen.
“So the younger generation shall carry out the legalization of Artsakh’s legitimacy,” Larisa Alaverdyan noted.
