Georgian embassy expresses condolences to Armenian people
The Georgian embassy in Armenia expressed its condolences over the death of 6-month-old boy Seryozha Avetisyan who was seriously wounded by Russian serviceman Valery Permyakov on January 12.
“We regret that efforts to save little Seryozha’s life failed. We express our condolences to the Armenian people and the relatives of the murdered family,” a message of condolence says.
Six members of the Avetisyan family, including a two-year-old girl, were killed in Armenia’s northwestern city of Gyumri on January 12. The only survivor, six-month-old Seryozha Avetisyan, was hospitalized in critical condition with stab wounds. He died on January 19, despite all efforts to save him.
Valery Permyakov, a soldier of the Russian 102nd military base in Gyumri, was detained at the Armenian-Turkish border following the mass murder. He is being held at the military base. On January 14 he was charged under the Criminal Codes of Armenia and Russia.
